Cayo Ensenachos is an almost virgin key, ancient aborigine site and refuge of endemic species of flora and fauna. This key has a horseshoe shape and two main beaches: Ensenachos and El Megano.
Secluded, powder white sands stretching more than 2.6 kilometers in length combined with calm, beautiful turquoise waters made of this key the paradise everybody dreams about.
Ensenachos is 115 km from the international airport Abel Santa Maria of Santa Clara, and 5 minutes from the national airport of Cayo Las Brujas, linked to the main land by a massive 48km causeway called "El Pedraplen" which was constructed across the Bahía Buena Vista from the port of Caibarién.
Located on Cayo Ensenachos, one of the smallest keys in the area, linked by road to main-land Cuba, with what are regarded as the best beaches of Cuba. The Royal Hideaway Ensenachos offers a choice of accommodation under a Deluxe All-Inclusive plan, featuring the highest standard of quality and personalized service. 506 rooms and 46 suites spread throughout three distinct sections: Royal Hideaway, Royal Spa and Royal Suite.

Destination Cayo Ensenachos Reviews: "Paradise Lost" user a CubaHotelReservation.com user, canada - date posted: Tuesday, January 06, 2009
From the moment we stepped out of out taxi to The Royal Hideway Hotel at Cayo Ensenados, we were taken by the opulence of the surroundings of the resort. The Cuban people must be congratulated for their foresight in building the 46 km. causeway from the mainland to the island. A virgin paradise indeed. The check-in process was efficient and the staff courteous. We were taken to our suite at the Royal Hideway Section, which we understood to be standard accommodation. We were delighted with the luxurious quality of our room. It came complete with a King Size bed, stocked mini-bar, bath, shower, private balcony, walk-in closet, satellite tv and dvd player. The food service was excellent and through the concierge (one to each building), we easily made reservations at the a la carte restaurants. The preparation of the array of food calmed our doubts about the standard Cuban cusine. Lobster and steak became a mainstay of our diet. The highlight or our stay had to be the daily visits to the beaches, which are unparalled with their scenic Caribbean beauty. Our afternoons were filled with a sumptuous lunch at the grill by the pool and refreshments at the swimup bar. Cocktail hour was normally enjoyed at the lobby bar, followed by several exquisite dinners at the variety of restaurants, including the buffet. Our hosts went to tremendous effort and expense to celebrate the New Years' Gala. There was a plethora of after-dinner entertainment, but we normally chose a coffee and Baileys outside at the cigar bar. Some friendly suggestions:
1) Bring small gifts for the staff.
2) Change your currency to small Cuban bills for the purposes of tipping. We went through approximately $25.00 per day.
3) Experience the decadent services of the spa.
3a) If you are a tennis advocate, you will enjoy the programmes and facilities offered.
3b) The gym is small, but adequate
4) Do not rely on the internet as it was very slow.
5) Do not plan any bicycle trips as this equipment was faulty and scarce.
6) Do not plan to receive a steady stream of hot water during your day.
7) Do not rely on room service as it was very slow.
8) Plan on extensive walking as this resort is really spread out.
9) Bring your own snorkelling equipment as this activity is unsurpassed.
10) Bring your own insulated beverage cups.
11) Enjoy this resort. We are world-travellers and have never experienced anything quite like Cayo Esenados.
