Cuba Information
Cayo Levisa
Cuba Destinations - Cayo Levisa The road towards the small dock at Palma Rubia, from where the boat leaves for Cayo Levisa, passes quiet towns such as La Palma (where the majority of the employees of the Hotel Cayo Levisa live) and banana plantations.

After a journey across the water of around 30 minutes, you will face three kilometers of beautiful beaches and 23 dive site options, and one of the best coral reefs in the world.

There are around 500 fish species, 200 sponges and various mollusks, crustaceans and gorgonians, star coral, brain coral, coral fans and numerous fish such as parrot fish, surgeon fish, grunts, grouper, and snapper

Very particular to this region are the presence of trigonias, considered the oldest living fossils found in Cuba.

For those that want to take advantage of the peace of the island there are 40 air-conditioned cabañas with ensuite bathrooms, satellite TV, restaurant, bar, grill and a shop, ensuring comfort for those who like bathing in the sea.

Diving is the main option for holiday makers who come to Cayo Levisa; it is backed by experts who are internationally recognized Reef Monitors, who ensure the safety of this water sport.

At the same the time the island serves as a seat for the organization that offers dive courses for experts who come from around the world to enjoy the diving.

A stay at Cayo Levisa can also be combined with trips to tourist sites in the province such as the Guanahacabibes Peninsula, named a Biosphere Reserve by UNESCO, the Rosario Sierra, and the Viñales Valley.
